"Sueño con que trazo un eje cartesiano: la altura del mar (y) y las horas del día (x). Durante un ciclo lunar completo, traslado uno a uno los datos de las pleamares y bajamares de cada día. ¿Es música? Alguien me habla del faro Magallanes: “le da la bienvenida a todos los barcos que ingresan por el atlántico sur”. Está ubicado en el hito 1, al extremo norte de la isla de Tierra del Fuego. Descubro que el faro fue encendido, por primera vez, el 21 de diciembre de 1976. El mismo día en que yo llegaba al mundo. Me entero de esto solo unos días antes de que ambos, el faro y yo, cumplamos 40 años. Ese día pensé que estábamos predestinados.

El mecanismo de la caja de música fue construido especialmente a partir del gráfico que resultó de ese sueño (estrecho de magallanes / luna#1). La actividad de tocarla se convirtió en una práctica diaria. En esta postal se incluyen tres registros sonoros consecutivos de esta acción".

"I dream about a cartesian axis: the height of the sea (Y), and the hours of the day (X). During one complete moon cycle, I mark one by one the high and low tides of each day. Is it music? Somebody tells me about the Magallanes lighthouse: “It welcomes and bids farewell to all the ships sailing along the straits between the pacific and atlantic oceans". It sits looking out over the extreme north of Tierra del Fuego. I discover that I was born on the same day and the same year as the lighthouse started working, 21st December 1976. That day I started thinking we were predestined.

The mechanics of the music box were built from the dream I had (estrecho de magallanes / luna#1), and playing it has become a daily practice. This postcard includes three consecutive recordings of this action".
